Job summary

Liberty FCU, a full-service credit union, seeks a Mortgage Loan Originator at the Downtown Office in Evansville, IN. You will interview borrowers, assess credit, and promote mortgage products while building relationships with realtors and customers.

You will ensure compliance with mortgage regulations, process documentation, and close loans, contributing to loan volume in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to initiate and develop outside business to drive loan volume.
• Experience with mortgage loan sales is required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct loan interviews, discuss programs, explain processes, and request supporting documentation for loan approval.
• Evaluate credit and financial status of prospective borrowers to make sales of residential mortgage loans.
• Cross sell Credit Union products and services.
• Make outgoing calls to sell our products and services.
• Maintain knowledge of mortgage products including purchase money 1st mortgages, refinances, HELOCs, bridge loans, construction loans, and VA/USDA/FHA loans.
• Understand and apply all federal rules and regulations associated with mortgage lending.
• Develop and maintain relationships with realtors.
• Attend purchase loan closings.
• Assist in fielding member calls related to mortgage lending.
• Develop knowledge of the Credit Union's data processing system, loan origination system, Word, and Excel.
• Maintain knowledge of loan products, processing procedures and underwriting guidelines.
• Any other duties assigned by supervisor or management.

Liberty FCU, a full-service credit union, is currently seeking applicants to fill a Mortgage Loan Originator role at the Downtown Office, located at 728 Locust Street, Evansville, IN 47708. The successful candidate must have excellent communication skills, attention to detail and have the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. The ability to initiate and develop outside business to drive loan volume is required. Experience with mortgage loan sales is required.

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
