Job summary

The Washington Trust Company in Warwick, RI seeks a detail-oriented Loan Origination Specialist to support Mortgage Originators throughout the residential mortgage loan process. You will handle administrative, operational, and customer support to ensure a smooth borrower experience from application through closing.

Responsibilities include file management, documentation collection, loan pipeline monitoring, and collaboration with internal teams.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 2 years of administrative support experience in a mortgage lending environment.
• Experience supporting Mortgage Originators preferred.
• Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Working knowledge of mortgage loan documentation and loan origination systems, including Encompass, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support Mortgage Originators by managing loan files and maintaining accurate documentation.
• Assist borrowers throughout the mortgage application process and provide exceptional customer service.
• Request, collect, review, and upload required loan documentation.
• Monitor loan pipelines and help ensure applications move efficiently through the lending process.
• Coordinate with Mortgage Originators, Processors, and internal partners regarding file status and outstanding conditions.
• Respond to customer inquiries and provide coverage when Mortgage Originators are unavailable.
• Assist with CRM management, customer follow-up, and other marketing and business development activities.
