Job summary

Availa Bank in Council Bluffs, IA seeks a Mortgage Loan Officer to originate, underwrite, and close residential loans in compliance with policy and regulations. You will manage the full loan lifecycle and contribute to community outreach.

Responsibilities include analyzing applications, maintaining credit quality, and cultivating relationships with agents and customers to grow loan origination and fee income.

Qualifications

• Typing fast with accuracy and attention to detail.
• Solid knowledge of loan policies including Fannie Mae.
• Understanding mortgage lending principles and regulations.
• Strong math skills for calculations and analyses.
• Excellent oral and written communication abilities.
• Ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
• Leader in community projects and bank promotions.

Responsibilities

• Originate all loan applications within customer service and regulatory timeframes.
• Analyze credit applications and propose mortgage solutions to meet needs.
• Maintain loan quality with complete documentation and regulatory compliance.
• Build relationships with customers, agents, attorneys, and builders to promote bank services.
• Adhere to all lending laws, policies, and procedures.
• Assist customers through complex issues and collections as needed.
• Monitor real estate market trends, rates, and regulatory changes.
