Job summary

TowneBank Mortgage is seeking a driven Mortgage Loan Officer to originate loans and grow referral networks. You will interview applicants, gather documentation, and communicate progress to clients and internal teams.

You will quote rates, secure pricing, and manage a loan pipeline while ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. Strong relationship-building and leadership qualities are essential.

Qualifications

• Active NMLS# is required.
• At least 1 year of experience originating VA, FHA, Conventional and VHDA loans.
• Current sources of referral business for purchase transactions are preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Awareness of FNMA/FHLMC, FHA, VA and VHDA underwriting guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Originate mortgage loans in compliance with company and regulatory policy.
• Interview, pre-qualify and pre-approve applicants.
• Complete applications and gather documentation.
• Quote rates and secure pricing with Secondary Marketing.
• Maintain pipeline and ensure loan status accuracy.
• Mentor other Loan Officers and share industry updates.
• Represent the bank at events and in community outreach.
