Overview
General Purpose: Prepares the documents for Closing and funding all mortgage / home equity loans; both primary and secondary liens. Responsible for post-closing of all loans including Quality Control and Funding of Third Party Originations.
Responsibilities
- Reviews all files for closing, ensuring underwriting conditions, secondary conditions and compliance conditions have been met.
- Coordinates the closing with member, closing agent. Prepares final documentation and disburses funds.
- Assembles and prepares final documentation for closing mortgage loans.
- Balances related general ledger accounts, maintains closed files, creates and distributes reports.
- Funding/Post Closing and QC Audit of all originated loans.
- Assists Mortgage Servicing with file transfer and boarding issues as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of legal and real estate terminology, documents (i.e., Deeds of Trust, title insurance, policies, surveys, etc.) and real estate laws/regulations.
- Educated on TRID with a clear understanding of the timing requirements and tolerance violation issues.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret mortgage loan application files in accordance with established credit union policies and procedures, and secondary market requirements.
- Ensure all related files and documents are accurate, current, and submitted on time.
- Ensure good business relations exist with members and problems and/or questions are courteously and promptly resolved or referred.
- Must remain highly organized and produce accurate work in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Provide assistance and support as needed within department.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
- Strong knowledge of loan origination software.
Qualifications - Education & Experience
- High School diploma or equivalent. Some college course work preferable.
- Minimum 3+ years of related mortgage experience.
