Job summary

TEKsystems is seeking a Mortgage Loan Closer in Winchester, VA to handle end-to-end mortgage closings, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and company policies.

The role involves working with settlements, lawyers, and brokers, preparing packages, and coordinating funding. Training will be provided, with a mix of onsite and remote work in a hybrid schedule.

Qualifications

• No prior mortgage or financial services experience is required – Full paid training is provided.
• High school diploma or equivalent is needed.
• Must be proficient with basic office software.
• Strong organizational skills, multitasking abilities, and ability to work well in a team with other officers to share loan data.
• Must also be able to work effectively on their own with minimal supervision.
• Basic understanding of the loan application and approval process, and strong interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Close first mortgage loans in accordance with applicable federal/state laws as well as company policies & procedures.
• Research, analyze, and problem solve system issues.
• Prepare mortgage packages for delivery to Settlement companies.
• Coordinate the closing & funding of assigned loan packages.
• Monitor mortgage loan process & ensure compliance with laws, practices, guidelines & regulations.
• Verify completeness and accuracy of approved credit packages.
• Determine amount to be withheld from loan proceeds, request and process internal payoffs and prepare request for loan disbursement.
• Ensure credit, underwriting and property conditions have been satisfied prior to closing.
• Maintain contact with lawyers, settlement agents and real estate brokers regarding the status of closing package.
• Prepare fully executed mortgage file for post-closing.

• Must also be able to work effectively on their own with minimal supervision.
• Basic understanding of the loan application and approval process, as well as possess strong interpersonal skills.

Work Environment

• Hybrid Schedule – Onsite 3x per week/Remote 2 days
• High Speed Internet required (T Mobile not accepted)

Training Hours

• 9am-530pm EST

1st Training

• 3 Fixed Days per week onsite which will be assigned to them (Typically Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday)

Bridge Training: 4 weeks of Bridge training

• Starts the day after they graduate from the 1st training class.
• 3 Fixed Days per week onsite which will be assigned to them (Typically Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday)

Working Hours (Must be open to all) - Shifts will not be given until they assign supervisors prior to training ending, they are subject to change at any time.

New hires will most likely be assigned the 11:30-8:00pm shift to start

• 930EST to 6:00pm EST OR 11:30amEST to 8:00PM EST
• Candidates will be assigned a shift schedule closer to the end of Bridge training. They must be open to all shift times.

Must be able to provide employment and education verification documents (diploma, W2, etc) at the time of offer

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Winchester, VA.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.88 - $19.88/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
