Job summary

Genesee Regional Bank is seeking a Mortgage Loan Originator Assistant to support the day-to-day sales functions of the Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO). The Assistant serves as the main liaison between the MLO, sourcing agents, customers, vendors, and mortgage operations staff.

Responsibilities include guiding applicants through the mortgage process, handling pre-qualifications, coordinating documents, and using Encompass and Direct Underwriting to track loan progress.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED (Associate’s degree preferred) and a minimum of 3 years of residential mortgage sales and/or processing experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must have or be able to obtain a National Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) number and remain active with the S.A.F.E Act registration throughout the duration of employment (with GRB assistance).

Responsibilities

• Walk customers through application process and follow up on any outstanding items.
• Assist MLO with customer pre-qualifications as needed.
• Communicate with customers and prospects regarding rate inquiries, appointments, loan status, title, and commitment follow-up.
• Pre-process conventional, government and portfolio mortgage files and ensure all components are included.
• Follow up on home buyer inquiries and application progress.
• Schedule and confirm appointments and review documents needed at time of application.
• Provide marketing support to MLO including preparation of marketing materials.
