Job summary

Sunward Credit Union is expanding to Clark County and seeks a Mortgage Loan Originator who can grow production while serving the community. You will originate loans, assess borrower needs, and ensure compliance with mortgage regulations.

The role emphasizes serving bilingual and underserved borrowers and collaborating with a team to move deals forward in a mission-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum three years’ experience originating mortgage loans.
• Minimum HS Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Current NMLS registration or ability to become registered upon employment.
• Thorough understanding of mortgage lending fundamentals and regulations.

Requirements

Qualifications:

Experience and Education

• Minimum three years’ experience originating mortgage loans.
• Minimum of HS Diploma or GED equivalent.

Knowledge

• Thorough understanding of mortgage lending fundamentals and regulations.
• Strong knowledge of mortgage products.

Skills/Abilities

• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to communicate lending related topics clearly and succinctly to others.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. Familiar and comfortable with information technology, particularly digital means of communication.
• Strong organizational skills in managing multiple initiatives.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work individually and as a team.
• Ability to keep and maintain pass requirements for SAFE ACT.
• Current registration with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) or ability to become registered upon employment.

Physical Requirements/Work Environment

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Frequent travel.
• Must be able to lift 5 pounds at times.
