Job summary

Virginia Credit Union is seeking an experienced Mortgage Loan Officer Team Lead to oversee the mortgage operations, manage pipeline workflows, and drive origination growth while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and policies.

The role emphasizes sales leadership, staff development, and collaboration with internal teams to enhance member service and cross-sell VACU products across branches and affiliates.

Qualifications

• Significant mortgage origination and processing experience with full range of knowledge of mortgage lending, including conventional and government loan programs.
• Significant mortgage sales management experience required; knowledge of mortgage documentation requirements and related regulations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee mortgage loan officer team and manage the mortgage application process, including pipeline management and service delivery expectations.
• Set production goals and ensure monthly/annual origination goals are met; foster a positive, accountable work environment.
• Assist the Vice President with establishing and meeting monthly and annual closed loan goals; determine staffing to support loan volumes.
• Manage the pipeline of the mortgage loan officer team; review pipelines and resolve bottlenecks to meet member service expectations.
• Develop and implement process improvements in mortgage operations to streamline functions and improve productivity and service.
• Promote VACU depository and mortgage origination products, cross-sell related financial services, and maintain strong centers of influence relationships.

Education

High School Graduate; College education with a focus on real estate/business preferred, but not required.
