Job summary

Rate is seeking a highly analytical Financial Analyst or Senior Financial Analyst to support mortgage originations and operations in a fast-paced bank-style environment. You will partner with Production, Sales, Operations, Capital Markets, and Executive Management to provide insights, forecast results, and strategic decision support.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years in FP&A, accounting, or related finance role within mortgage/financial services
• Strong understanding of P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow dynamics
• Expert-level Excel skills with complex modeling and data automation
• Experience with LoanVision, Workday Adaptive Planning, Oracle, Tableau or Power BI preferred
• Ability to translate data into actionable insights for senior leadership

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly forecasting, annual budgeting, and long-range planning for Production, Operations, or Corporate functions
• Analyze monthly results and explain variances vs forecast, budget, and prior periods
• Develop and maintain advanced financial models for origination volume, margins, productivity, and profitability
• Perform variance and trend analysis to drive profitability and cost efficiency
• Partner with Accounting, Capital Markets, and Operations to ensure accuracy and alignment
• Support leadership with planning, reporting, and KPI dashboards for executives
• Identify process improvements to improve forecast accuracy and reporting efficiency
• Develop metrics and dashboards to track key performance indicators
