Job summary

Selene Finance LP seeks an on-site Default Servicing Specialist I to independently manage end-to-end processing of loan modifications, HUD Partial Claims, and short sale closings. You will perform quality control on documents, coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders, and ensure accurate updates in the system.

Ideal candidates have 2–3 years in loan servicing or related financial services, strong attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities under tight

Qualifications

• Minimum 2-3 years of experience in loan servicing, default resolution, or a related financial services role.
• Strong understanding of loan modification, short sale, and HUD Partial Claim processes.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• High level of professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage the end-to-end processing of loan modifications, HUD Partial Claims, and short sale closings.
• Perform advanced quality control reviews of legal and financial documents to ensure compliance with investor and regulatory guidelines.
• Coordinate with internal departments, title companies, and external stakeholders to facilitate smooth closings.
• Review and clear title issues prior to document execution and recording.
• Ensure accurate and timely updates to Selene's system of record, including status tracking for internal and private label clients.
• Process complex payment applications, reversals, and fee waivers in accordance with modification terms.
• Validate that financial calculations align with modification terms and system data.
• Prepare and submit documents for notarization, execution, recording, and imaging.
• Support process improvements and assist in training and mentoring Default Servicing Specialist I team members.
• Maintain compliance with internal controls and contribute to audit readiness.
