Job summary

Trustmark invites motivated students to join its Summer Internship in the Community Lending department in the Jackson, MS area. The program provides on‑the‑job training, project work, and exposure to mortgage processes and community outreach.

Interns will participate in training, community service, and events designed to enhance understanding of the bank's operations while developing skills in accounting, finance, and client services.

Qualifications

• Must be able to commit to working June 7, 2027 - July 30, 2027.
• Major: Accounting, Finance or Business related.
• Minimum GPA of 3.00.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Complete assigned special projects within departments, working closely with department managers.
• Perform administrative functions to support the department such as answering phones, ordering supplies, distribution of mail, filing, etc.
• Assist Community Lending Specialists with requesting and reviewing documentation needed to meet DU and loan program requirements.
• Follow up with applicants and provide guidance/assistance for obtaining proper documentation to ensure timely processing of loan requests.
• Coordinate marketing and outreach strategies and assist with homebuyer and financial literacy workshops for defined market.
• Attend designated training classes.
• Participate in community service.
• Attend Trustmark events to understand functional areas of the bank.
• Present an overview of department and projects; provide an evaluation of departments and the program.
