STAR Financial Bank is seeking a Mortgage Case Opening Processor at its Fort Wayne headquarters. The role involves reviewing mortgage applications, ensuring compliance with LE disclosures, and preparing packages for underwriting.

The position supports a hybrid workplace model, combining in-person work at Fort Wayne with remote options. Candidates should have 2–3 years in mortgage documentation and knowledge of federal/state laws.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years mortgage experience in loan documentation and delivery.
• Knowledge of Federal and State compliance laws.
• Strong mathematical ability to compute rates, ratios and percentages.

Responsibilities

• Review mortgage applications according to standard corporate fee matrices.
• Ensure LE disclosures meet State and Federal guidelines.
• Modify and correct LE fees as required.
• Review Loan Estimates and disclosures for accuracy and compliance.
• Review change of circumstance documents for valid changes.
• Maintain knowledge of applicable compliance regulations.
• Assist in reducing errors and improving turnover times.
• Generate application packages for loans in a timely manner.
• Prepare new loan setup files for Underwriter review.
• Review Desktop Underwriting findings for required documents.
• Maintain communication with the Loan Officer regarding incomplete or incorrect info.
• Apply bank, state, and federal regulations to ensure compliance.
• Meet or exceed productivity and quality standards.
• Adhere to regulatory turnaround times for disclosures.
• Serve as backup to Mortgage Processors and Construction Loan Admin.
• Collaborate with servicing and loan officers to clear up deficiencies.
