Job summary

The DC Army National Guard seeks an Indirect Fire Infantryman responsible for mortars, field operations, and camouflage locations. You will operate as part of a mortar squad, receive combat orders, and contribute to offensive and defensive missions.

Advanced soldiers may train others, lead crews, and supervise mortar positions; after Basic Training and Advanced Individual Training, you will earn while you learn with tuition assistance and healthcare benefits.

Qualifications

• Must meet Army National Guard enlistment requirements.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Strong physical fitness and ability to work under demanding conditions.
• Willingness to deploy and train regularly.

Responsibilities

• Set up, load, and fire three types of mortars.
• Operate, maintain, and employ crew weapons in combat.
• Scout missions to spot enemy troops and gun locations.
• Support offensive and defensive operations with indirect fire.
