Job summary

The DC Army National Guard seeks an Indirect Fire Infantryman to operate mortars as part of a mortar squad, providing frontline and indirect fire support while undergoing rigorous training. You may be deployed to access locations, camouflage positions, and engage enemy targets in demanding environments.

As you advance, you will train others, lead mortar teams, and implement combat orders. Earn paid training, a monthly drill paycheck, and access to tuition assistance and the Montgomery GI Bill

Responsibilities

• Set up, load, and fire three types of mortars
• Employ crew and weapons in offensive, defensive, and retrograde ground combat
• Operate, clean, and store automatic weapons
• Employ, fire, and recover anti-personnel and anti-tank mines
• Carry out scouting missions to spot enemy troops and gun locations
