Job summary

Greater Green Bay YMCA, Inc. is seeking a Wellness Center Associate to ensure a safe, welcoming fitness environment. Under supervision, you will monitor activity, demonstrate equipment use, and uphold safety and cleanliness standards to support healthy lifestyles for members and guests.

You will greet members, answer questions, provide basic guidance, and help with first aid if certified. The role emphasizes engagement, respectful service, and teamwork in a busy wellness space.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Ability to demonstrate basic exercises and safe movement techniques.
• Must be able to perform CPR and/or other first responder duties as trained.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the fitness center floor by actively observing member activity and equipment use, intervening when necessary to correct unsafe behaviors or misuse, and reinforcing YMCA policies and etiquette.
• Provide high-quality member assistance by demonstrating proper equipment operation, answering questions, and offering basic exercise guidance.
• Maintain facility cleanliness and equipment functionality by routinely cleaning and sanitizing all fitness areas, organizing weights and accessories, and inspecting machines for proper operation.
• Respond promptly to emergencies by following YMCA safety protocols, administering first aid or CPR if certified, and communicating effectively with leadership.
• Greet members by name, initiate friendly conversations, and create a welcoming atmosphere to foster belonging and strengthen member retention.
• Share information about upcoming classes, events, and wellness opportunities to increase member engagement.
