Job summary

Hesston USD 460 Operations Dept. is seeking a Custodian for the a.m. shift to maintain a safe and clean environment across Hesston Secondary Schools.

You will be responsible for daily cleaning, minor repairs, and ensuring secure buildings at closing. This full-time position supports district facilities and operates in a dynamic school setting. The role requires independent work, physical stamina, and basic maintenance skills in electrical, carpentry, and general upkeep.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to work independently without supervision.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe, attractive, clean environment for district facilities.
• Operate equipment and machinery as required.
• Keep buildings and premises neat, clean, and safe at all times.
• Clean classrooms, corridors, restrooms, and common areas daily.
• Close buildings, set alarms, and secure facilities after hours.
• Report unauthorized persons or damaged property to supervisor.
• Make minor building repairs and report major repairs as needed.
