Hesston USD 460 is seeking a Custodian for the afternoon/evening shift to maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment at Hesston Elementary School. The role involves operating equipment, cleaning classrooms, restrooms, and common areas, and performing basic repairs as needed.

Key responsibilities include enforcing district policies, managing climate controls, and reporting issues to the supervisor. The position requires a high school diploma and the ability to work with little supervision

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Ability to work independently without supervision.
• Experience and knowledge in electrical, maintenance, and carpentry.

Responsibilities

• Support the district’s vision, mission, and values.
• Implement policies and statutes as determined by government agencies and the school board.
• Operate all equipment and machinery as required.
• Keep building and premises neat, clean, and safe at all times.
• Clean classrooms, offices, corridors, and restrooms daily.
• Sweep, shovel, and sand walks; close buildings and secure at end of day.
• Regulate climate control and maintain mechanical systems as directed.
• Report unauthorized persons or damaged property to the supervisor.
• Perform minor repairs and report major repairs as needed.
• Communicate effectively with district staff and community.
