Job summary

The Goddard School in Brookfield, CT is seeking a part-time floater to support daily learning experiences. You will help create a safe, healthy, and nurturing classroom, support play and exploration, and coordinate with the Lead Teacher and faculty to meet developmental goals.

Responsibilities include designing room arrangements, presenting appropriate expectations, planning activities to build self-esteem, and communicating professionally with parents.

• Designing an appropriate room arrangement to support the goals and developmental level of the children in the classroom.
• Creating a positive learning environment in their classroom where children develop a lifelong love of learning
• Presenting expectations that are appropriate to the child’s age and developmental level
• Planning and implementing activities that develop self-esteem and social skills
• Building teamwork
• Committing to continuing education.
• Ensuring compliance with Goddard’s Quality Assurance Standards
• Must be available for shifts: 7:30-1:00, 1:00 pm-6:00 pm or 3:00-6:00, 3+ days weekly

Job description

A floater at The Goddard School® is responsible for establishing and maintaining a safe, healthy and nurturing learning environment. Additionally a floater is responsible for working together with a Lead Teacher and in conjunction with the entire faculty.
