Job summary

The Goddard School in Midlothian is seeking a flexible, dependable Floater Teacher for part-time afternoon hours. You’ll support lead and assistant teachers, cover end-of-day shifts, and help with closing routines while working with children from infants to Pre-K.

Ideal candidates may be high school seniors, college students, or anyone who loves working with kids, and value on-the-job training and professional development offered by our team.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Experience with or interest in working with young children preferred.
• Willingness to float to various age groups throughout the day.
• Positive attitude, reliability, and strong communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Provide coverage for lead and assistant teachers to support classrooms.
• Supervise and engage children in age-appropriate activities across infants through Pre-K.
• Maintain classroom safety, cleanliness, and organization during transitions and closings.
• Build positive, nurturing relationships with children, staff, and families.
• Follow school policies and licensing regulations.
