Job summary

East Valley Institute of Technology is seeking an Adult Basic Education Tutor to support adult learners in English, Math, Science and History. This part-time role involves regular student meetings to build study, organization, test-taking, note-taking and time management skills.

Work may occur in the classroom, study room, library, online or in a hybrid setting to boost academic success. The position is grant-funded, 19.75 hours per week, Monday–Thursday 8:00–10:30 AM, with occasional afternoon

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Strong passion for helping others.
• Valid Arizona IVP Level 1 fingerprint card must be obtained prior to start date.
• Immunization against measles and rubella if born after 1957.

Responsibilities

• Teach English, Mathematics, Science and History to adult learners.
• Meet regularly with students to improve study, organizational and test-taking skills.
• Support note-taking and time management; adapt to classroom, study room, library, online or hybrid settings.
• Help students reach their full academic potential.
