  • Assist in adjusting and executing policies and procedures related to the operations of the Wake County Holding Facility.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Functions
  • Coordinate transportation of decedents to and from the Wake County Holding Facility with the North Carolina Office of the Chief Medical Examiner (OCME), funeral homes, next of kin, or other responsible party
  • Create, update and maintain decedent records
  • Document communications
  • Execute the unclaimed process for non-medical examiner case decedents
  • Monitor inventory levels of essential supplies and report deficiencies to the Morgue Operations Manager
  • Perform routine cleaning and maintenance, ensuring equipment is clean and functional
  • Assist in adjusting and executing policies and procedures related to the operations of the Wake County Holding Facility
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required
The Basics (Required Education and Experience)
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Two years of experience in clerical work, customer service, or related experience
  • Valid Driver's License and "safe" driving record
  • Equivalent education and experience are accepted

Beyond the Basics (Preferred Education and Experience)
  • Two years of related public service experience
  • Experience working in a morgue, healthcare setting and/or patient transportation
  • Fluent in Spanish

About This Position

Location: WCOB Raleigh, NC 27602

Employment Type: Regular

Work Schedule: Four, ten-hour workdays each week (Mon - Fri) from 7:00am - 5:30pm. Workdays can vary week to week.

Hiring Range: 26.44 - 28.64

Market Range: 26.44 - 35.23
