Job summary

Metis Technology Solutions Inc. in Houston, TX is seeking a sustaining engineer to support ground systems, including hardware and software integration and maintenance for NASA missions.

You will participate in reviews (SDR/CDR), develop system requirements, and coordinate with NASA contractors and civil servants at Johnson Space Center. Strong analytical and communication skills, plus willingness to work in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment are required.

Qualifications

• AA or Military Tech School in electronics, satellite operations or equivalent.
• Preference for Military and/or NASA experience.
• Familiarity with NASA Near Space Network, including Direct To Earth and Space Relay networks.
• Ability to understand RF concepts and satellite communications.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Participates in NASA program meetings and design reviews (SDR, CDR, TRB) and other technical meetings.
• Reviews program documents related to Space-to-Ground Network Systems and interfaces.
• Develops system requirements and interface documentation.
• Verifies that commercial vendors meet program requirements and perform end-to-end testing.
• Interfaces with NASA contractors and Civil Servant personnel and partner teams.
