Job summary

Alliance-For-Equity-in-Montessori-Education seeks Substitute Classroom Assistants to support lead teachers in Alder and Hartley Montessori classrooms serving 3-5 year olds in the Reynolds School District. Roles include supervision, arrivals, meals, outdoor play, and light cleaning.

Substitutes must be reliable, team‑m oriented, and flexible for short notice shifts during the 2026-27 school year. Training is provided; multilingual candidates, especially Spanish speakers, are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Experience in working with young children (as employee, volunteer or parent).
• Compassionate communication style and positive attitude.
• Ability to work in a classroom with up to 25 children.
• Active learner and dependable for substitute shifts.
• Fluency in Spanish or other languages commonly spoken by learners.

Responsibilities

• Assist lead teacher and staff with supervision and classroom management.
• Help with student arrivals, meals, outdoor play and departures.
• Include light cleaning tasks.
