Job summary

Mt. Clemens Montessori Academy is hiring a Full Time Resource Room Teacher to support students with diverse learning needs and to help them reach academic goals.

The ideal candidate holds a Michigan Teaching Certificate with the appropriate endorsement and has experience with differentiated instruction and IEP development. The position is part of a charter school serving preschool through fifth grade, emphasizing Montessori-inspired, student-centered learning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field.
• Michigan teaching certificate with endorsement in the subject.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of IEP development and differentiated instruction.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with general education teachers, special education staff, and parents to develop and implement IEPs and instructional strategies tailored to each student’s unique needs.
• Provide targeted support to students with disabilities or learning challenges, helping them access the curriculum and develop academic and social skills.
• Develop, implement, and adapt comprehensive lesson plans that meet the curriculum standards and cater to diverse learning styles.
• Develop assessments and monitor student performance through various methods, including tests, quizzes, projects, and presentations.
• Implement appropriate interventions to promote growth and achievement.
• Collaborate with colleagues to align curricula and participate in ongoing professional development initiatives.
• Participate in school activities, meetings, and events to contribute to the overall mission of the institution.
• Maintain a safe and positive environment for all students
• Maintain effective communication with students, parents, and school staff
