Job summary

Marin Montessori School in California is seeking a joyful and resourceful primary support assistant to help two classrooms serving children ages 2-6. Responsibilities include preparing materials and supervising during staff breaks, with on-call substitute duties when staff are absent.

This is a full-time, 10-month calendar position (mid-August through mid-June), Monday–Friday, 7:30 am–3:30 pm, with paid breaks and optional four-week summer camp opportunities.

Qualifications

• Minimum 12 ECE units, including Child Development and Family & Community
• At least six months' experience working with young children
• Kind, joyful attitude with a desire to learn on the job
• Interest or experience in crafting/material prep
• Professional, reliable, punctual, and resourceful
• Basic computer skills; excellent verbal and written communication
• Able to lift up to 40 lbs, sit on the floor, and move with ease
• Organized and detail-oriented
• Ability to successfully complete a background check
• Collaborative and flexible with colleagues

Responsibilities

• Support daily classroom operations in two primary classrooms
• Prepare materials (cutting, sewing, playdough, punching paper, etc.)
• Supervise children during staff breaks, maintaining line of sight
• Serve as on-call assistant substitute when staff are absent
