Job summary

Provident Montessori School in San Francisco seeks a warmly committed Montessori Classroom Teacher's Assistant to support a lead guide in a small, home‑like setting. You will help prepare materials, maintain order, and nurture independence in children aged two to six years.

Qualifications

• Must have at least twelve postsecondary semester units in early childhood education (ECE) or child development.
• A Child Development Teacher Permit (or higher) from the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing satisfies this requirement.
• Fully qualified teacher position; not an aide role.
• Paediatric CPR and First Aid certification current or to be obtained on hire.
• Background checks and licensing clearances (Live Scan, CACI, TB, influenza, pertussis, measles) as required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain the environment so children can work independently.
• Observe and record each child's activity to inform planning.
• Protect concentration by keeping the room calm and orderly.
