Job summary

Oak Hill Montessori Community School seeks a children’s house assistant teacher for ages 3-6 to support the Lead teacher in implementing the Montessori prepared environment and curricular activities.

The role is full-time, salary non-exempt, Monday-Friday during the 10-month school year, with potential summer hours. You will help supervise children, prepare materials, maintain the classroom, and learn Montessori philosophy.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of experience with children ages 3-6.
• Positive attitude and commitment to the school community.
• Availability to work hours based on organizational needs.
• Ability to supervise groups of children indoors and outdoors.
• Maintain classroom cleanliness without accommodations.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Clearance of a background check.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and work with children under the Lead Teacher's direction.
• Take observation notes and share questions with the Lead Teacher.
• Assist with classroom projects, meetings, and planning as requested.
• Maintain a positive, collaborative attitude with staff and parents.
• Learn about Montessori philosophy and apply in the classroom.
• Refill supplies promptly and maintain classroom materials.
• Keep materials and environment clean and in good repair.
• Prepare curriculum materials as requested by the Lead Teacher.
