Job summary

Montessori School of Lake Forest is seeking a Primary Classroom Assistant for the 2026-2027 school year. The Assistant supports the Directress in nurturing, guiding, and teaching children aged 3-6 using the Montessori method.

The ideal candidate is reliable, patient, positive, and respectful. Responsibilities include supervising recess, observing and supporting classroom rules, helping children develop independence with self-care, snack and meal setup/cleanup, and assisting with environmental

Qualifications

• Good communication skills and a strong work ethic.
• Investment in continuous learning and development.
• Ability to collaborate, multi-task and learn through observation and modeling.
• Prior experience working with children preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervising indoor and outdoor recess with children.
• Observing children and supporting classroom rules and procedures.
• Assisting children with self-care, snack setup/cleanup, lunch setup/cleanup, and cooking projects.
• Preparing and maintaining the environment under teacher guidance, including stocking and cleaning.
• Assisting with individual or small group work as directed.
