Job summary

Avocado Montessori Academy, located in Bellevue/Kirkland area, is seeking a passionate Montessori Early Childhood Lead Teacher to join our community.

We value authentic Montessori practice, strong relationships with children and families, and a calm, collaborative environment where both children and teachers thrive. Compensation for experienced Lead Teachers is in the low-to-mid $30s/hour, with PTO, health benefits, and professional development support.

Qualifications

• MACTE-accredited Montessori Early Childhood credential is required.
• Minimum 5 years of lead teaching experience in a Montessori classroom.
• Strong understanding of Montessori philosophy and classroom practice.
• Warm and professional communication skills with families.
• Ability to work collaboratively with assistants, families, and school leadership.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead Montessori Early Childhood classroom and guide daily lessons.
• Observe and document child progress to inform instruction and planning.
• Collaborate with assistants, families, and school leadership to maintain a calm, supportive environment.
• Foster a respectful, authentic Montessori culture with a focus on child-centered learning.
