City Garden Montessori School is seeking a Lead Teacher to implement a Montessori-based instructional program with an anti-bias/anti-racist framework. The Lead Guide collaborates with the principal, assistant guide, and families to support comprehensive child development.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree, Montessori certification, and teaching credentials for the relevant grade level. Compensation ranges from $45,000 to $62,000 annually with comprehensive benefits and paid breaks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher required.
• Teacher certification in elementary (1–6) or equivalent; reciprocity acceptable.
• Montessori certification from AMI/AMS or other recognized body.
• Experience teaching in public urban settings preferred.
• Commitment to anti-bias and anti-racist education.

Responsibilities

• Plan interdisciplinary units using curriculum standards and current research.
• Coordinate curriculum with specialty teachers and integrate instruction.
• Engage students with diverse abilities and learning needs.
• Use assessment tools (MAP, ELA/Math, observations, portfolios) to guide decisions.
• Create and communicate weekly learning plans for all students.
• Maintain a safe, engaging Montessori environment and inventory of materials.
• Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress and needs.
• Lead conferences and participate in school functions and professional development.
