Job summary

California Montessori Project seeks an Instructional Assistant I to support teachers in TK-8 classrooms, fostering a safe, inclusive learning environment and assisting with lesson materials and student supervision.

The position is part-time or full-time (192 days), with hourly pay on the IA scale. CMP offers strong benefits including health/dental/vision, retirement plans, childcare support, flexible spending accounts, and EAP, along with ongoing professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree or 48 college units, or the ability to pass a paraprofessional exam.
• Montessori experience preferred.
• CPI certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to a safe, nurturing learning environment.
• Assist teachers with lesson materials and activities.
• Supervise students and support inclusive classroom practices.
• Coordinate with teachers for homework club, tutoring and educational needs.
• Document student progress and communicate with parents/guardian as needed.
• Adhere to school safety policies and procedures.
• Attend seminars, in-service trainings and staff meetings.
