Job summary

California Montessori Project (CMP) is seeking an Instructional Assistant III to assist in classrooms, collaborate with teachers, and support students with special needs across CMP campuses. The IAIII will help implement IEPs, support behavior management, and contribute to a nurturing, inclusive learning environment under teacher supervision.

The role emphasizes intervention for students with ED or autistic designations, collaboration with staff, and adherence to CMP policies and MTSS/PBIS

Qualifications

• Associates Degree with 48 college educational units or ability to pass paraprofessional exam.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with students, teachers, and professionals.
• Empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to impact students with diverse abilities.
• Ability to follow and implement instructions from teachers and specialists accurately.
• Confidentiality and ethical handling of sensitive information.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain a safe, nurturing learning environment that promotes emotional well-being and academic growth.
• Monitor daily classroom operations for safety and productive educational activity.
• Assist in preparation and organization of classroom materials, resources, and activities.
• Support students during instructional activities, ensuring engagement and task focus.
• Collaborate with teachers to modify assignments and assessments for individual needs.
• Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with special needs.
