Job summary

California Montessori Project is seeking an Instructional Assistant I for the American River site in Fair Oaks. The role supports teachers, assists with student activities, and helps create an inclusive classroom for TK-8 students.

The position is part-time, non-exempt, with a 192-day school calendar and Montessori-aligned expectations. Benefits include access to CMP’s comprehensive compensation package and growth opportunities within a supportive charter network.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree, 48 college ed units, or ability to pass paraprofessional exam.
• Montessori experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in classroom with all students, including special education students as needed.
• Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to support student learning.
• Prepare and organize classroom materials and activities; monitor safety and behavior.
• Coordinate homework club, tutoring, and extracurricular activities as necessary.
• Communicate with parents/guardians regarding student progress and incidents.
