Job summary

California Montessori Project (CMP) is seeking an Instructional Assistant I to support classroom instruction across CMP campuses. Reporting to the Principal, IA I collaborates with teachers to foster an inclusive, engaging learning environment for all students, including those with special needs.

This part‑time, non‑exempt position follows the CMP IA pay scale and covers 192 school days per year, emphasizing teamwork, safety, and adherence to policies.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree or 48 college education units required.
• Montessori experience preferred.
• Paraprofessional exam ability or CPI certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Create a safe, nurturing learning environment and support academic growth.
• Collaborate with teachers to plan and implement lessons and activities.
• Assist in preparing materials and organizing classroom resources.
• Monitor student safety and participate in meetings to discuss progress.
• Communicate with families about daily activities and student needs.
