Job summary

The Early Head Start Teacher at Catholic Charities Brooklyn and Queens, Inc. will lead the teaching team to implement Montessori-based activities for children ages 6 weeks to 3 years, ensuring development in social, emotional, cognitive, language, and physical areas.

You will monitor progress, complete observations, and maintain timely records while adhering to agency policies and HIPAA confidentiality; travel to multiple centers across the five boroughs may be required.

Qualifications

• CDA credential required with a plan to obtain an Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education within 7 years.
• Associate, Bachelor's or Master's in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred.
• NY State Initial/Professional Certification - Birth-2 preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year teaching experience in a pre-school or infant-toddler setting.
• If not Montessori trained, commit to enroll in the Agency's Montessori training within 1 year.
• Ability to travel to multiple locations within the five boroughs.

Responsibilities

• Lead Montessori-based learning environment to support development across domains.
• Implement activities to promote social, emotional, cognitive, physical, and creative growth.
• Maintain daily routines including napping, feeding, toileting and hygiene.
• Share information with parents via daily contact, home visits and newsletters.
• Use observations and conferences to design individualized lesson plans.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
