Job summary

Countryside Montessori Charter School is seeking a Montessori Classroom Assistant for Grades 4-5. The role supports teachers and students in regular classrooms and other capacities, with supervision by the Teacher of Record and Head of School.

Duties include preparing materials, managing classroom displays, and assisting with tests and clerical tasks. The position requires a high school diploma, the ability to relate to children, and the ability to pass a Level 2 background screening.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Ability to relate to children

• College training in area
• Typing and multi-media skills
• Previous experience in similar position

Responsibilities

• Prepare instructional materials
• Collect materials needed by the teacher for units
• Arrange learning environment and displays
• Assemble, adjust and maintain equipment used in instruction
• Operate multi-media equipment and prepare rooms for activities
• Assist with administering and scoring objective tests
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Work with individual students or small groups
• Supervise students during non-instructional times including lunch and bus periods
• Complete clerical tasks such as attendance, lunch reports, and grade recording
• Format individual student schedules
