Job summary

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED, or two years of experience in a recreational/arts and crafts field working with children.
• Ability to work under supervision and maintain classroom routines.
• Effective communication with students and staff; dependable and patient.

Responsibilities

• Assists in setting up laboratory equipment.
• Proctors and assists in administering examinations.
• Assists in correcting test papers, recording grades, and maintaining student files.
• May operate recording equipment, reading lab equipment, film projectors, and other equipment.
• May perform simple clerical duties under general supervision.
• Reads to children and plays records for children.
• Oversees and/or assists students in hallways, bathrooms and school grounds as required.
• Distributes supplies to classroom students.
• Assists in supervising recreation, lunch periods and study halls.
• May assist in cafeteria clean-up and other housekeeping tasks.
• Assists in arts and crafts or other classroom activities.
