Guidepost Montessori in Downers Grove is seeking an Assistant Teacher to join a nurturing, mixed-age classroom serving children from 0 to 6 years old. You will support daily learning activities, help create a calm and engaging environment, and foster independence and curiosity in young learners.

You’ll observe children, assist with small-group instruction, build warm relationships with families, and collaborate with Lead Teachers to promote a cohesive classroom community.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children ages 3–6 in a school or childcare setting.
• Positive, adaptable, and collaborative mindset.
• Love for working with young children.
• Interest in learning Montessori approach (prior Montessori experience welcome but not required).

• Observe children closely to understand and support their individual needs
• Help prepare and maintain a beautiful, orderly classroom environment
