Montana Department of Livestock is seeking a Livestock Investigator for District 16 (Hill, Blaine, Phillips). The role focuses on enforcing federal, state, and tribal livestock laws, inspecting and investigating to protect the livestock industry within the district.

You will also act as Chinook Market Supervisor and may support other law enforcement agencies as needed. The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma, 5+ years of livestock handling, and the ability to obtain P.O.S.T

Formación

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• 5+ years of livestock handling experience including rope work, firing brands, and stock handling.
• Ability to become P.O.S.T Certified within 1 year of employment.

Responsabilidades

• Enforce federal, state, and tribal livestock laws within district.
• Stop vehicles carrying livestock and seize livestock or vehicles when needed.
• Arrest individuals, issue citations, and assist other law enforcement agencies as required.
• Perform duties as Chinook Market Supervisor and travel as needed.
