Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA seeks a Monitor Tech to observe and interpret EKG tracings on telemetry patients, promptly notifying staff of rhythm changes. The role focuses on safe operation of monitoring equipment and accurate documentation to support patient care.

Qualifications include a HS diploma and completion of a monitor tech program; EKG/Monitor Tech certification is required upon hire. This is a full-time days position at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.

Qualifications

• Completion of a monitor technician surveillance program/course required upon hire.
• Certification as EKG/Monitor Tech preferred or required per hiring process.

The Monitor Tech observes, recognizes, interprets, evaluates, and documents EKG tracings on telemetry-monitored patients in order to detect deviations from patient’s norm. Promptly notifies appropriate personnel of dysrhythmias. Operates and utilizes monitoring system to full capacity. Ensures proper and safe functioning of the telemetry equipment.
