Job summary

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA, is seeking a Monitor Tech to observe and interpret EKG tracings on telemetry-monitored patients. You will promptly notify staff of dysrhythmias and operate telemetry equipment to ensure safe functioning.

The role requires HS Diploma or equivalent, plus EKG/Monitor Tech certification and completion of a surveillance program on hire. Full-time days with a supportive benefits package are offered.

The Monitor Tech observes, recognizes, interprets, evaluates, and documents EKG tracings on telemetry-monitored patients in order to detect deviations from patient’s norm. Promptly notifies appropriate personnel of dysrhythmias. Operates and utilizes monitoring system to full capacity. Ensures proper and safe functioning of the telemetry equipment.
