Job summary

Temecula Valley Hospital is seeking a Monitor/Telemetry Technician to document activities and accurately interpret cardiac rhythms. You will post rhythm strips within 60 minutes and report changes to the RN, while observing patients’ biophysical, developmental and sociocultural needs.

You will also handle clerical tasks and assist with unit supply orders under budget guidance, contributing to patient-centered care and efficient telemetry operations in a busy acute care setting.

Qualifications

  • BLS Certification (AHA current) required.
  • Certification from cardiac arrhythmia recognition class required.
  • CPI Certification within the first 90 days of employment.
  • One year as telemetry technician in an acute care facility preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Document activities in accordance with policy.
  • Accurately interpret cardiac rhythms and post strips within 60 minutes.
  • Report rhythm changes to the RN promptly.
  • Observe patient behavior across biophysical, developmental, cognitive and sociocultural needs.
  • Perform secretarial/clerical tasks and assist with unit supplies per budget.

Monitor/Telemetry Technician

The Monitor Technician is responsible for documenting all activities performed in accordance with established policy; Rhythm recognition, analysis, and interpretation. Accurately interprets cardiac rhythms and posts strips on flow sheet within 60 minutes of time run and reports to RN all changes in rhythms. The Monitor Technician also observes patient behavior, focusing on biophysical, developmental, cognitive, emotional, spiritual and sociocultural needs. Will be responsible for performing the secretarial/clerical aspects of patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse. Orders supplies for the unit/department following the budget guidelines as set by the Department Director/Manager.
