Job summary

Temecula Valley Hospital (TVH), part of Universal Health Services (UHS), is seeking an Observation Emergency Department Technician to join its Emergency Services team in Temecula, California. The role supports nurses and physicians to deliver patient care across the ED, from infants to seniors, ensuring smooth patient flow and safety.

The ideal candidate holds CA EMT/Paramedic/CNA or Medical Assistant credentials, BLS current, and CPI within 90 days of hire.

Qualifications

  • CA EMT, CA Paramedic, CA CNA or Medical Assistant required or enrolling in RN program with clinical coursework.
  • BLS (Current from AHA) required.
  • Basic dysrhythmia certification required.
  • CPI within 90 days of hire.
  • One year experience in an acute care setting preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Administer patient care under RN/physician supervision in the ED.
  • Support patient flow and safety across age groups from infant to geriatric.
  • Follow the plan of care and coordinate with care team to maintain smooth ED operations.

Observation Emergency Department (ED) Technician

Reporting to the Director of Emergency Services the ER Technician is responsible to administer patient care to designated patients under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse. Follows the plan of care set by the registered nurse and/or physician, managing the individual needs of the patient with regards to their age and clinical diagnosis. Performs a variety of direct and indirect patient care duties in the Emergency Department in order to ensure and maintaining smooth patient flow. The E.R. Technician has specialized skills and knowledge in Emergency Care for all patients from infancy through geriatric.

Qualifications

Education/Training/Experience:

  • CA EMT, CA Paramedic, CA CNA or Medical Assistant required –OR- Currently enrolled in RN program with successful completion of 2 semesters of clinical coursework.
  • BLS (Current from AHA) required
  • Basic dysrhythmia certification (BART) required
  • Crisis Prevention and Intervention (CPI) obtained within 90 days of hire
  • High School Graduate or equivilent
  • One year experience in an acute care setting preferred
