Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a full-time Monitor Technician in Palos Park. This role involves constantly monitoring cardiac monitors, identifying any abnormal rhythms, and ensuring timely communication of changes. The position demands effective communication skills and basic computer proficiency.

The ideal candidate will possess a High School diploma, have successfully completed ECG interpretation coursework, or have one year of cardiac monitoring experience. CPR certification is also required. This role works night shifts from 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m., with alternating weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

Description

The Monitor Technician, 12 hours reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.

Responsibilities

• The central telemetry monitor technician is responsible for continuously monitoring the cardiac monitors of patients, identifying abnormal and normal rhythms, prompt reporting of cardiac rhythm and rate changes, and accurate record keeping. Must possess effective communication skills. Must have basic computer skills.

This position is full-time, 72 hours per pay period, night shift, 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. with alternating weekends and holidays.

• Successful completion of ECG interpretation coursework or 1 year of previous cardiac monitoring experience
• CPR – Basic Life Support
