HCA Houston Healthcare Clear Lake is seeking a Telemetry Technician to support the Surgical Intermediate Unit by evaluating patients on telemetry and monitoring all equipment at shift start and end. The role requires ensuring accurate telemetry notes and timely communication with nursing leadership.

The ideal candidate may have an EKG background, basic life support within 30 days of start, and a commitment to maintaining knowledge and a friendly patient-focused atmosphere.

Responsabilidades

• Performs duties appropriate to the position and in compliance with hospital policies and procedures, and any other duties, as assigned.
• Monitors all equipment for the proper functioning at the start of shifts and notifies Bio-Medical and Director/Nurse Manager of any problems.
• It is accountable for all telemetry units at start and end of shift.
• Put all telemetry notes with the patient’s chart immediately, when telemetry discontinued.
• Documents all telemetry admissions on 24-hour Telemetry Worksheet in logbook.
• Documents a six-second strip swiftly and when changes in rate/rhythm occur and make sure all strips are properly interpreted.
• Notifies Charge Nurse of all rate/rhythm changes.
• Responsible for maintaining and improving own job knowledge and skills.
• Responsible for maintaining a friendly customer atmosphere.
• Responsible for maintaining monitors in working conditions while on or off patient and including changing batteries and leads.
• Responsible for setting alarms at appropriate settings and sufficiently audible levels.
• Responsible for alerting nurse of 48 hr renewal order due.
• Responsible for notifying AOS/Director when all monitors are in use and the need for intervention to free up monitors as part of Through Put Plan.
