Sentara RMH Medical Center in Harrisonburg, VA is hiring a part-time Monitor Technician to observe and document EKG tracings on telemetry patients to detect deviations from the norm.

The role requires completion of a monitor technician program or certification within 90 days, with alternative eligibility via 1 year of recent surveillance experience. Two 12-hour shifts per week, rotating weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Completion of a monitor technician surveillance program/course required upon hire.
• Alternatively, 1 year monitor surveillance experience within the last 5 years accepted instead of a formal program.
• Must complete Sentara Basic Arrhythmia competency tool after orientation.
• Basic understanding of cardiac monitoring or EKG is desirable.

Responsibilities

Overview:

Sentara RMH Medical Center is now hiring a part-time Monitor Technician. This position Observes, recognizes, interprets, evaluates, and documents EKG tracings on telemetry-monitored patients in order to detect deviations from patient's norm.

Schedule:

Two 12-hour shifts per week, rotating weekends, and rotating holidays

Education

High School Grad or Equivalent

Certification/Licensure

• Completion of a monitor technician surveillance program/course required upon hire.
• Candidates who have not completed a monitor technician surveillance program must complete a certificate program within 90 days of hire.
• Or 1 year experience in monitor technician surveillance within the last 5 years will be accepted in substitute of a monitor tech surveillance program/course.

To be released from new employee orientation all Monitor Technicians must successfully complete the Sentara Basic Arrhythmia competency tool which includes passing a basic arrhythmia exam.

Experience

Any previous health care experience can be considered. Basic understanding of cardiac monitoring or EKG is strongly desired

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $19.55 - $28.69 hourly. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs.
