Job summary

Sentara Health in Woodbridge, VA is seeking a Monitor Technician for a full-time night shift. You will observe, interpret, and document EKG tracings on telemetry patients, promptly notifying staff of dysrhythmias and ensuring telemetry equipment is functioning properly.

Preferred candidate has an EKG/Monitor Tech background with at least 1 year of experience; a high school diploma is required and completion of a monitor technician program within 90 days of hire is expected.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Completion of a monitor technician surveillance program required upon hire; if not completed, must complete within 90 days.
• 1 year of EKG/Monitor Tech experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Observe, interpret, and document EKG tracings on telemetry-monitored patients to detect deviations from normal.
• Promptly notify appropriate personnel of dysrhythmias.
• Operate and fully utilize monitoring systems and ensure proper functioning of telemetry equipment.

Overview

Sentara a is currently hiring a Monitor Technician. This is a Full - Time position with night shift hours

Position is located in Woodbridge, VA.

Observes, recognizes, interprets, evaluates, and documents EKG tracings on telemetry-monitored patients in order to detect deviations from patient's norm. Promptly notifies appropriate personnel of dysrhythmias. Operates and utilizes monitoring system to full capacity. Ensures proper and safe functioning of the telemetry equipment.

Education

• High School Diploma (Required)

Certification/Licensure

• Completion of a monitor technician surveillance program/course required upon hire. Candidates who have not completed a monitor technician surveillance program must complete a certificate program within 90 days of hire.

Experience

• EKG/Monitor Tech - 1 year preferred

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $19.55 - $28.69 hourly. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs.
