Job summary

Sentara Health in Norfolk, VA seeks a Monitor Tech to observe, interpret, and document EKG tracings on telemetry-monitored patients. You will promptly notify staff of dysrhythmias and operate the monitoring system to full capacity while ensuring telemetry equipment functions safely.

The role is full-time during day shifts, with a HS Diploma or equivalent and completion of a monitor technician program required upon hire.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Certification/licensure: EKG/Monitor Tech completion required upon hire.
• Completion of a monitor technician surveillance program/course required upon hire.

The Monitor Tech observes, recognizes, interprets, evaluates, and documents EKG tracings on telemetry-monitored patients in order to detect deviations from patient's norm. Promptly notifies appropriate personnel of dysrhythmias. Operates and utilizes monitoring system to full capacity. Ensures proper and safe functioning of the telemetry equipment.
