Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital is seeking a Monitor Technician for the Telemetry Monitor Surveillance team. The role is full-time, night shift (approximately 7pm–7am) on a 12-bed cardiac unit focused on complex cardiovascular care.

You will observe, interpret, and document EKG tracings, promptly notifying staff of dysrhythmias and ensuring telemetry equipment operates safely and effectively. A monitor tech surveillance program is required on hire.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a monitor technician surveillance program/course required upon hire.
• Candidates may substitute with 1 year of monitor technician surveillance experience within last 5 years.

Approximately 7pm to 7amDepartment/Position Overview:Our 12-bed cardiac unit provides specialized care for patients with complex cardiovascular needs in a close-knit, team-focused environment.Observes, recognizes, interprets, evaluates, and documents EKG tracings on telemetry-monitored patients in order to detect deviations from patient's norm. Promptly notifies appropriate personnel of dysrhythmias. Operates and utilizes monitoring system to full capacity. Ensures proper and safe functioning of the telemetry equipment.EducationHigh School Diploma or EquivalentCertification/Licensure· Completion of a monitor technician surveillance program/course required upon hire.· Candidates who have not completed a monitor technician surveillance program must complete a certificate program within 90 days of hire. The base pay range for full-time employment is $19.55 - $28.69 hourly.
